Prince William and Kate Middleton are seemingly enjoying the married life, along with their three kids. While their life as a royal can be tough and challenging at times, reports are stating that they wouldn't last almost a decade if it weren't for the love and support that they have for each other.

According to Marie Claire, after almost a decade of dating, Prince William decided to "pop the question" in October of 2010. This is just after they got back together from their second split.

Many reports asserted that the prince did not exactly plan the proposal in advance. He just knew when and where it will happen.

In an interview with CNN, Prince William revealed that he always "daydream." He chose Kenya because Africa "settles" him completely. The prince furthered that Kate knows and "understands" what it means for him to be in the region. So, it was the perfect place for him to ask Kate's hand.

While plans were not made far advanced, Express UK reported that Prince William was meticulous. It was also shared that he took his mother, Princess Diana's sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

As per his statements, he still wanted his mother's presence, somehow, in one of the very special moments of his life. Hence, he chose her engagement ring to propose to the love of his life.

Kate Middleton was "shocked" when she learned after that Prince William took the ring with him for three weeks before the actual day. He carried it in his "rucksuck" and was afraid and worried that he might lose it. The Duchess of Cambridge thought of it as a "romantic" gesture, to which she later on revealed in an interview.

Telegraph UK released a photo of the actual log cabin in Kenya where Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton. As seen in the photos, the couple spent a quick retreat to one of the luxurious Rutundu log cabins. It offers a "seclusion," which makes it an ideal setting for a romantic proposal.

Recent reports revealed the interior of the exact log cabin Prince William chose nine years ago. It comes with a cozy leg and dining room. The finishing and furniture are also on point as these factors fit suitably the ambiance of the area. A veranda is also evident in the log cabin, which offers a great and romantic view.

Prince William and Kate Middleton got engaged in October 2010. A month later, they finally announced to the world that they are tying the knot soon. The royal couple got married in April 29, 2011 in Westminster Abbey.
