Super Junior just proved that they still have what it takes to rule the music shows when they picked up their first win for Super Clap on Mnet's M Showdown.
According to a report by All Kpop, Super Junior prevailed over the competition with their new song Super Clap from their ninth studio album Time Slip. The idols are making their first comeback after all the members have completed their mandatory enlistment.
Super Junior prevailed over N.Flying's Good Bam to take the final victory in a show full filled with amazing performances from Ariaz who debuted Moonlight Aria, Sunny Hill with Nom Nom Nom, TXT with Run Away, VAV with Poison, DAY6 with Sweet Chaos, and NU'EST with Love Me. HighSoul, Saturday, Haeun, Vince, ATEEZ, AB6IX, Youngjae, Ladies' Code, ONF, Lee Suk Hoon, and Kei also performed on M Showdown.
The victory comes as a high point for Super Junior and their fandom Everlasting Friends (ELFs) because fans have waited almost 10 years for the idols to reunite as a complete group. It has also been 15 years since Super Junior's debut, which makes them one of the longest existing Kpop idol groups in the industry.
Super Junior's Time Slip also comes with a lot of significance for their fans who also know the album as the group's 999 project. With nine songs and nine members, the ninth album features the concept of going back to Super Junior's roots.
Unfortunately, while Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun worked on the album together, Heechul will be unable to participate in Super Junior's upcoming Super Shows due to his leg injury, Soompi reported.
Label SJ earlier announced that Heechul's injury renders him unable to perform the complicated dance steps for the new songs. The label assured fans that he will still be part of promotions in variety shows like Knowing Bros and Idol Room, as well as Super Junior's web show SJ Returns.
Super Junior, recently, kicked off their Super Show 8 world tour in Korea at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul with a two-night concert on Oct. 12-13. While he was not part of the performances, Heechul was present at the concert giving support to his members as he posted a series of snaps on his personal Instagram account.
The Super Show 8 is expected to continue Japan from November 2-4 at the Saitama Super Arena. Super Junior also makes a stop in Thailand from November 23-24 to perform at Bangkok's Impact Arena. Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun will return to Osaka from February 7-9 to perform at the Maruzen Intech Arena before they take on the Marine Messe in Fukuoka for a two-night concert from February 15-16.
