Halloween in Riverdale will scarier than ever. The protagonists of Riverdale Season 4 will deal with their own demons in the upcoming Episode 4, titled "Chapter Sixty-One: Halloween."
The new episode will most likely pick up from the scene in the previous episode in which Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) found a videotape at their doorsteps. The synopsis for Episode 4 revealed that Betty and Jughead are not the only two who received the tape.
Videotapes will appear on doorsteps across Riverdale. The content of the tape would definitely reveal in Episode 4 as it states in synopsis residents will feel fear once again.
As Betty deals with the tape, the Black Hood and the Gargoyle King are back to haunt her. In the teaser for the episode, the Riverdale High senior receives a mysterious call from her supposedly dead father, Hal Cooper (Lochlyn Munro), who also revealed in the previous season as the killer Black Hood.
The Black Hood taunts Betty over the phone by saying that he is calling her inside their house. Betty is seen running to her room and find something shocking in there. Betty is also seen imagining the Black Hood and the Gargoyle King at school.
Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes), in her Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe outfit, is seen running to La Bonne Nuit. Someone could be chasing her, possibly her father Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) goons, or she is in a hurry to get something at the La Bonne Nuit. In the previous episode, Veronica found out that his father can get in and out of prison that he also owns.
As for Archie (KJ Apa), he and Mad Dog (Eli Goree) are still looking for ways on how they can fund their community center for the town's kids. In the upcoming episode, the two will be hosting a fundraising Halloween party. However, Archie's noble plan will be derailed when some uninvited visitors crash their Halloween party.
Meanwhile, it looks like Jason Blossom's corpse is missing. Halloween party Poison Ivy Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) tells the Harley Quinn Toni (Vanessa Morgan) that her brother's soul is haunting them. Cheryl said Jason is angry, perhaps because she has been keeping her brother's body in the basement instead of leaving him at peace.
In the sneak peek for Riverdale Season 4 Episode 4, the couple, Cheryl's nana Rose (Barbara Wallace), and a creepy doll in a wheelchair are seen using an Ouija board to talk to Jason's soul. Where is Jason's corpse?
At Stonewall Prep, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) will learn about a series of mysterious disappearances of some former students of the school. Jughead could seek help from his friends at Riverdale but everyone is also busy solving mysteries at their own turf.
Jughead will probably find assistance from the only person that he could trust at Stonewall Prep, Moose Mason (Cody Kearsley). Riverdale Season 4 Episode 4 airs on October 30 at 8/7c on The CW.
