A detective of the Intelligence team of the Chicago Police Department will get fully immersed in a case. Meanwhile, the use of a new facial recognition software will backfire on Voight's team in the upcoming Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 6.

Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has trained his team to be tough even in the most heartbreaking cases but there are times that even him breaks especially when the victims are the most innocent people on Earth. So, it is understandable that his men may once in a while become emotionally invested in a case.

In Episode 6, the Intelligence team will be leading the investigation on the brutal murder of young kids. The crew is racing against time to find the killer and solve the case because the incident escalates into a war.

It looks like the crime happened in a neighborhood where gangs are at war. In the teaser, Hank is talking to someone, possibly a father of one of the victims, and asks him to give them time to investigate and solve the case.

As new in his position, Interim Superintendent Jason Crawford (Paul Adelstein) would normally like to solve a huge case like this as quickly as he could. He will urge the team to use new facial recognition software. However, the use of technology, in this case, would do harm than good to the team.

It is unclear how this will happen as the teaser did not give a hint on that aspect. But, it has been known that the use of this kind of technology has been a concern to many human rights advocates. There have been concerns about the high rates of false positives in using the system and it also contains racial and gender biases.

There are so many possibilities on how this technology could put the team in hot water in the upcoming Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 6. The team could have identified a suspect using the software but turned out that it was a false positive. The team could have arrested a wrong person and, before he faces trial, the families of the victims took their revenge on him.

Meanwhile, the synopsis also indicates that the death of the children will affect Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). Jay probably knows one of the victims or someone close to the child.

It is also possible that Halstead's CI has told him that there is a threat to the kids but his action came too late. In the teaser, a man tells Jay that their time to give justice to kids is already running out. Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 6 airs on October 30 on NBC.
