Everyone saw Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as the perfect pair. They were a power couple in Hollywood that was a match made in heaven until things went sour. But, before their romance ultimately ended, the two, reportedy, did something to revive their romance only that it turned for the worse.

Behind their picture-perfect family was a marital problem that nobody knew about. Jolie still, allegedly, tried to save their marriage by working on a shared project, the 2015 film By The Sea. The ex-couple met in the production of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, where their feelings also developed.

So, in hopes of keeping their love alive, they decided to work on a project together once again. Jolie saw it as a chance to communicate with Pitt, as they share the same love and passion for movies.

However, the reviews By The Sea received turned their supposed reconciliation to a total disaster. Although some saw Jolie and Pitt "dazzlingly gorgeous" in the film, they were said to be lacking emotion. Their performance was described to be "empty," which might be a description of their feelings at the time.

"There was a heaviness probably during that situation that carried on, and it wasn't because of the film," she said," Jolie explained, per Her Moments. Unfortunately, their efforts to rekindle their romance were gone to waste. The heaviness they felt, too, didn't go away. All the bad reviews, reportedly, ruined her hopes that By The Sea would keep them together.

In 2016, Brangelina fans received the most surprising news of their lives. Jolie and Pitt announced their split that followed by a lot of controversies, from their feud to a child-custody battle. After three years, the two are now declared legally single, but they are not officially divorced yet.

According to Daily Mail Online, both Pitt and Jolie asked for more time to agree a financial settlement in their divorce. Hence, it may still take more time before their marriage gets officially dissolved. However, the talks between the two parties are, reportedly, going smoothly. They are now working together for an agreement.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with the French magazine Madame Figaro, Jolie admitted that she "lost herself a bit" when she parted ways with Pitt. At the time, the 44-year-old star revealed that she didn't know what held her fate but she was convinced that she was in a period of transition. After a decade of romance with the Ad Astra actor, she is now returning to her roots and herself.
