MONSTA X dropped their latest MV for Follow along with the release of their album Follow: Find Me. To express their excitement, Monbebes sent the members one billion hearts on VLive to celebrate Monsta X's comeback.
The Follow MV, which has been viewed by close to 1.5 million views since it was uploaded last Oct. 28, received many positive comments from global fans who praised the MV for its strong choreography and catchy tune. Monbebes particularly liked the fusion of Korean traditional instruments with an EDM sound that combined the strength of traditional and modern music. Fans shared their approval on the thread and pushed for more streams to reach five million views on the first day. Monsta X's Find You, the first track of their new mini-album which was uploaded on October 22, is now on its way to 1.7 million views on YouTube.
According to a report by Hello Kpop, Monbebes outdid themselves when they welcomed Monsta X's comeback with over one billion hearts for their VLive broadcast. Members Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M ushered in the release of Follow: Find Me with a broadcast to interact with fans an hour before the MV release for Follow.
Within the broadcast period, fans sent out 1.1 billion hearts and posted 287,000 comments full of positive messages for the group. The record of 1.1 billion hearts is almost double the original goal of the fans to post 700 million hearts for Monsta X. Monbebes celebrated their accomplishment by continuing to stream the new music from Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M.
While the rest of the fandom is in a celebratory mood, members Wonho and Minhyuk issued their apologies over a controversial video that they were involved in last March. The video showed the two members during a fan sign event making jokes. Minhyuk pretended to interview Wonho's chest with a microphone and Wonho raised his hand and said "Me Too" in English.
In their statements, Minhyuk and Wonho expressed remorse over their actions and admitted that they did not intend to disrespect members of the Me Too movement with their careless comments. Both members apologized profusely for their lapse in judgment and promised to reflect on their actions, Soompi reported.
Starship Entertainment also issued a statement on the matter and assured fans that they have discussed the issue with the members. The agency expressed openness to receive suggestions and inputs from fans to overcome the areas in which they are lacking.
