Kate Middleton has been known for her love for photography and she is great at taking family portraits. She usually shares family portraits that she took. Some photography experts revealed the reasons why the Duchess of Cambridge decided to take pictures herself.

Many of the Cambridges' official photos are taken by Kate herself. It is quite common to spot the 37-year-old royal to have a camera on hand and taking photos of her family especially when they are out on intimate occasions such as their kids' birthday or family picnic at the park.

However, it was revealed that her interest in photography is not the sole reason why Kate designated herself as one of the official royal photographers of her family. Zoe Bonser, show director at The Baby Show, said Prince William's wife might have decided to take pictures herself so she has control over what is released in the public. Understandably, this is to protect her children's privacy.

It is not surprising why Kate is always on guard with her family's well-being. Prince William is set to become King one day and so as their firstborn son, George. When that happens, Kate Middleton would become queen consort to William and queen mother to George. Either way, both titles carry royal duties.

The Baby Show's lead experts in baby photography Gina Jones added Kate's decision to take and released family portraits on her own is also an attempt to make the Cambridges more accessible to the public. It also shows that she is a hands-on parent.

Another possible reason is a little bit surprising and that is to cut costs. Jones explained that Kate has been observed to be cautious when it comes to spending.

She is sometimes spotted repeating outfits or wearing cheaper yet comfortable clothes. Taking family portraits by herself in a smart move to cut back costs on professional royal photographers and at the same time showcasing her own photography skills.

"It also shows that they are resourceful with money as you often see Kate in high street fashion and sometimes repeating outfits and so by taking her own photos this again shows how she is savvy with money," Gina said (via Express).

Kate Middleton's photography skills are something that could not be brushed off aside. She has a keen eye for art and has talent in capturing them on her camera. In fact, she was awarded an honorary lifetime membership by the Royal Photographic Society.

Kate Middleton's interest in art is not surprising. She attended the University of St. Andrews where she received her Master's degree in history of art.
