The 21-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter even answered a fan's question about how long they have been dating at a Q&A in Adelaide, Australia.
The fan said that the rumors that Mendes and Cabello are dating have been going on for a while. However, it remains to be a big mystery how long they have been together, per Seventeen.
Mendes gamely revealed that he and Cabello have been dating for a few months now. "We haven't been dating for that long. We've been dating since July 4th officially," he said without hesitation.
Hence, Mendes and Cabello are now confirmed to be officially together during the 4th of July weekend, which was the same time when they were seen acting like a couple in public for the first time. Us Weekly revealed that the two were seen getting pretty cozy with each other when they both graced the Red White and Bootsy July 4th party at Nobu.
"They were sitting with each other, facing each other and looked very intimate," an insider told the publication. They even left the event together holding hands. It was also the same period when the news broke that Cabello and Matthew Hussey broke-up.
HollywoodLife noted that Mendes and Cabello have been seen out and about several times since the beginning of the summer. It was the same time their hit duet song and hot music video "Señorita" was out on June 21.
