Jennifer Aniston, recently, joined the Instagram world. However, there are rumors it is only for a short while. The Friends star may deactivate her account after the promotions of her new Apple TV+ series, The Morning Show, as it is the only reason why she joins the social media craze.
Aniston was welcomed by millions of fans on Instagram that broke the platform, creating a new record. For only five hours and 16 minutes, the 50-year-old star earned 1 million followers that made a new Guinness World Records.
However, a tabloid claimed that fans might not see Aniston on Instagram for much longer. It said that Justin Theroux's ex is only using the photo-sharing site to her professional advantage.
A so-called source revealed that Aniston is a very private person and she couldn't understand why anyone wanted to reveal every single detail of their lives online. However, when her The Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon, allegedly, told her that she could use Instagram to promote their new show, she decided to join the hype. But, when she is done plugging the series, Aniston will reportedly quit social media.
According to Gossip Cop, although Aniston used Instagram to promote The Morning Show, it was not the sole reason why she joined the platform. The new Apple TV+ series already aired on Nov. 1, but she remained to be on the site. She also hadn't posted any promotional material on her page since Oct. 31.
Indeed, having a social media page helps a celebrity to boost publicity for a new project, but Aniston only promoted The Morning Show twice. The show was also renewed for Season 2, so it might mean that she would stay or reactivate her account if the rumor is true. Her rep even confirmed that the phony article is not real and total nonsense.
In fact, in a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Aniston explained that she decided to join Instagram for a variety of reasons, per the Hollywood Reporter. "[You can] share information, connect with your fans, right wrongs that are said about you, have fun, make fun of yourself, make fun of people. Help animals get rescued," she said.
Aniston is just one of the many A-list celebrities who chose to avoid the noisy world of social media. She earlier said that she was worried about its damaging effects on youth who were still trying to figure out their identity. Now that she's on it, she might be of help and inspiration to these young people.
