BTS has topped the list of 2019 Powerful People in Entertainment, a survey conducted by JoyNews 24 in time for its 15th anniversary. BTS even beat award-winning director Bong Joon Ho, who took second place.

According to a report by All Kpop, the survey was conducted among 200 professionals in the entertainment industry including representatives from entertainment companies, broadcasters, film, and broadcast content producers, as well as reporters covering the entertainment beat.

BTS took the first place in the 2019 Powerful People in Entertainment list with 74 votes. The idol group -- consisting of RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, V, Jimin and Jungkook -- was the top pick of the panel because of BTS' remarkable contributions to Korean entertainment. They were also credited with bringing KPop to the global stage with their successful records and concert tours.

Parasite director Bong Joon Ho was voted in second place for bringing global attention to Korean cinema. The director took home the Palme d'Or at the recent Cannes Film Festival, beating renowned filmmakers in the competition.

Big Hit Entertainment's CEO Bang Si Hyuk rounded up the Top 3 for defeating three of the biggest record labels in Korea with his investment in BTS. Because of the global attention he and his agency was able to generate, he was considered as one of the top International Power Players this year.

BTS members RM and Jimin also entered the list based on their individual power. Out of the members of the phenomenal KPop group, RM received votes for his skilled leadership of BTS. Jimin also received votes from the panel for wielding a strong influence among fans of KPop.

It can be recalled that Jimin was also honored with a place at the Business of Fashion 500 list. He was credited as one of the celebrities shaping the global fashion industry. Jimin was the only male Kpop celebrity included in the list. He was lauded by the prestigious fashion body for his unique fashion sense and appeal that resonated with his style choices. His inclusion in the list was a validation of his position as a global trendsetter, Koreaboo reported.

The BoF 500 list is the professional index of people who influence the $2.4 trillion global fashion industry. The list is determined by editors of The Business of Fashion, who screen hundreds of nominations made industry experts and make their selection based on data and research.
