WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Power season 6 episode 10. Read at your own risk.
On Sunday night, the midseason finale of Power season 6 was aired and it featured a shocking twist that could affect the series' future. In this episode, titled "No One Can Stop," we saw that Omari Hardwick's character, Ghost, was shot.
There are a lot of questions that needed to be answered when Power season 6 resumes next year. One of the most intriguing ones is that Ghost was shot and it remains unknown whether he's alive or dead. The midseason finale showed the character was shot in the chest, and Blanca heard the gunshot.
If ever Blanca acts accordingly, there's a huge chance Ghost will be saved. But, after the midseason finale, Hardwick shared a photo on his Instagram and reflects on his character. He wrote a long message and thanked the cast and crew, hinting that he's saying goodbye to his character: James "Ghost" St. Patrick.
According to CarterMatt, Hardwick's post is a way for him to say that he's leaving the series and we won't be seeing him when Power season 6 returns in 2020. In addition, the message has a sense of finality and acceptance, it's like the actor is ready to move forward and let go of his character.
Also, Hardwick is doing a movie at the moment. So, some think he's not really coming back on the Starz series. However, there's no official announcement right now that the actor will definitely leave the show. Thus, many believe Ghost is still alive, especially since he's the main character and it's hard to imagine doing the series without him.
But, if ever Ghost really dies, then, there are still ways on how to bring him back on Power season 6. For instance, some characters appeared in the midseason finale, such as Kanan, Angela, and Raina. Just like them, Ghost might be making his appearance even if he's dead, possibly appearing in the flashback of some characters.
Meanwhile, Tasha, Tariq, Tate, Saxe, Tommy, Paz, and Dre are the possible suspects that could be behind the trigger. All of them want Ghost dead and they have motives for killing him. But, some theories noted that Tasha's boyfriend, Q, or Ramona did it, while others believed Ghost isn't dead and he just wanted to frame someone.
Power season 6 is expected to return on Sunday, Jan. 5, on Starz. UK-based viewers, on the other hand, can watch the new episode the following day, Jan. 6, on Netflix.
