Ben Affleck, recently, admitted that he slipped from his sobriety, but promised that he would never let it derail him. However, there are new rumors that Jennifer Garner is threatening her ex-husband that she will take away their kids if he doesn't sober up.
A tabloid used Ben Affleck's admission of his mistake as a premise of its malicious story. Allegedly, Jennifer Garner sees the 47-year-old actor as a "lost cause." An alleged source, who is said to be the family's friend, revealed that there's "only so much Jen" could take after what happened.
"It's become especially hard to hide Ben's antics from their daughter, Violet, because she's now old enough [at 13] to read about it online," the insider added. Jennifer Garner reportedly told Ben Affleck to never go anywhere near their house, but he never listened.
Truly, Ben Affleck went to Jennifer Garner's home but it was not like what the tabloid claimed. According to Gossip Cop, the 47-year-old actress has been supportive of her former husband. She even compliments him as a father - even before he got sober.
In fact, before Jennifer Garner staged an intervention for Ben Affleck, she paid him a touching tribute for Father's Day on Instagram. She praised him for being a great father and said that their kids are lucky to have him as their dad. Hence, there is no truth that she has a plan to take away their kids from him despite the slip from sobriety issue.
After Ben Affleck's relapse, he was even seen with Jennifer Garner at their kids' school for a Halloween party in Malibu. They were all smiles and laughter. The Gone Girl actor's spokesperson even confirmed that the alleged family friend's claims and story are not valid at all.
Recently, Ben Affleck opened up about his sobriety. He proudly said that he has been in recovery for more than a year. However, he was later seen stumbling and appearing intoxicated outside the UNICEF Masquerade Ball in West Hollywood. It was even caught on a video that made his pals concerned about his future.
A sourced told Us Weekly that Ben Affleck was with a group of friends at the time. Another insider added that there was an open bar and people close to him knew where it would be heading. If the Argo star didn't get help, he wouldn't be able to stop again. He was also seen at a casino with Katie Cherry.
Ben Affleck admitted it was a "slip." However, he promised that he would not let it "derail" him. "This was a stumble, and he's working to get back on track," the source said.
