FX's Mayans M.C. is a biker drama and a spin-off from Sons of Anarchy. Its second season, recently, concluded, and fans are now wondering what will happen in the next installment. For now, here's what we know so far about Mayans M.C. season 3, including its renewal status, possible release date, cast, and plot details.
Mayans M.C. season 3 is officially happening on FX. But, while the series was already renewed, the network also announced program creator Kurt Sutter wouldn't be coming back in the third installment. Fans were shocked by the news, but Sutter stepped back and let Elgin James take over. The reason why Sutter has been, reportedly, axed is because of some complaints about his behavior.
As for the release date of Mayans M.C. season 3, the biker drama will likely premiere in fall 2020. Right now, however, there are no confirmed details about its official air date, though some believe it will follow the release schedule of the previous seasons. Thus, filming will likely occur in spring, and the upcoming installment will arrive sometime in September 2020.

The first two seasons of the series mostly focused on EZ settling into the M.C. culture. The second installment concluded with a cliffhanger, wherein EZ, finally, received his full patch and now an official Mayan M.C. member. Then, the Mayans went to a birthday party and killed everyone there. In the final scene, the gang was standing over the body, though the face wasn't shown.
According to ScreenRant, Mayans M.C. season 3 will have a new story, mostly focusing on gang politics since there's a literal war between Mayans and Vatos Malditas. The Santo Padre charter took a hit and declared war on the Vatos Malditos M.C. as retribution. The upcoming installment will open a new chapter for the gang, especially for EZ. But, the new season will also tie some loose ends from the season 2 finale.
