After giving birth to Archie Harrison, Meghan Markle reportedly "lay low" for quite some time to regain energy and spend time with her newborn. But, behind the scenes, the duchess was doing a few activities on her own for the benefit of her advocacies. As it happened, she was working back then for a huge project with British Vogue.

According to Cheat Sheet, British Vogue released a "sneak peak" for its September Issue. It was announced that Meghan Markle had "guest-edited," together with its editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful.

The announcement made a huge commotion among experts and fans. The reason being was Meghan became British Vogue's first-ever guest editor in its 103 years of history.

In the fashion world, many reports noted that it was "largely recognized" as the "most important issue" of the publication's year. Aside from the fact that it was guest-edited by a member of the British royal family, the issue highlighted 15 women, who have been deemed as game-changers of the society.

It was revealed, later on, that the project started when Edward Enninful "approached" Meghan Markle to be the cover of one of the issues. But, instead of accepting the offer, the duchess had another idea. She reportedly wrote a letter to the editor-in-chief and asked if she could do a guest editorial gig for the September issue, which has been known as the "Forces of Change" issue.

Many critics and fans were convinced that this is "good PR" for the Duchess of Sussex. Some even noted that it will "boost" her reputation among the British public.

However, the whole announcement and revelation in July about Meghan's part sparked a lot of debates and talks among the public. While some loved the idea of her gig, others were sharp.

Several individuals noted on various forum sites and platforms that it's not "really huge of a deal." Besides, this isn't the first time that a royal did a similar project. So, it is not something to be seen as spectacular or sensational as per statements.

Upon the release of the issue, a lot more negative feedback came rushing in. As per readers, they didn't enjoy one bit of the issue. Some commented that it was full of "adverts," and some claimed that it was subjected to too much "soap opera and antics."

As a result, many have wondered if Meghan Markle will be a guest-editor of a reputed publication if she was not a member of the royal family. Based on reception, unfortunately, experts believe that she wouldn't be one if it weren't for her position as the Duchess of Sussex. One even noted that it is all about "who you know" and not "what you know."

Nevertheless, some supporters still explained that the case will remain the same even for the other royals like Kate Middleton.
