MONSTA X's win on M! Countdown came as a welcome break from negative rumors surrounding its members. It can be recalled that Wonho left the group two weeks ago amid debt and drug allegations.

The issue started when Wonho's former roommate, Jung Da Eun, posted on social media and accused him of owing her money. Controversial idol trainee Han Seo Hee also backed the claims and said Wonho spent time in a juvenile detention center when he was still underage.

Apart from allegations of debt and a juvenile record, Jung Da Eun also accused Wonho of previously doing drugs, which promptly urged police to investigate the matter, Soompi reported.

Wonho and Starship Entertainment decided that the best course of action would be for him to leave the group to protect other members from negative criticisms.

However, it was not just Wonho who was dragged into controversy by Han Seo Hee. The former idol trainee also accused Starship Entertainment of trying to cover up an alleged affair between MONSTA X's Shownu and a married woman.

Starship Entertainment responded to allegations and clarified that Shownu was unaware that the woman was in a relationship while they were involved. The agency also met with the woman's husband to explain that Shownu stopped seeing the woman back in September, upon learning that she was married.

MONSTA X also took a hit when semi-naked photos of Shownu was circulated online. The agency claimed that the photos were manipulated to ruin the artist's image and vowed to sue individuals distributing the image.
