BTS Jimin has been acknowledged by one of the leading fashion magazines for breaking stereotypes on men's fashion. Jimin along with other celebrities such as Harry Styles and Nick Jonas were mentioned in the article about men that cross the border by wearing earrings.

In Harper's Bazaar Japan article, titled "An Era When Men Cross Borders & Wear Earrings," it talked about how the norm in masculinity has changed over the years and how brands break down stereotypes for men. The publication noted how fashion brands such as Chanel now offers cosmetics for men while Gucci and Balenciaga incorporate jewelry to men's fashion.

In the article, Jimin is recognized for defining his own style by adding earrings to his overall look. The magazine noted how men can now wear earrings even if they are not a celebrity or a member of the LGBT community because of the celebrities, like BTS Jimin, that incorporate feminine accessories to their overall look.

Meanwhile, BTS fans pointed out that wearing earrings is not the only time Jim breaks the gender norms. BTS ARMY cited some instances wherein the "Serendipity" singer redefined masculinity.

Jimin is the BTS member who started the tradition of giving gifts on members' birthdays. Group leader RM previously said they don't care about celebrating birthdays or giving gifts at first before because they consider it as unmanly. However since Jimin started a culture of celebrating the members' birthdays and giving gifts, they now to do the same thing.

In an episode of BTS's Bon Voyage Season 1 in 2016, Jimin also expressed his disagreement with bandmates Jungkook and V when the two said men shouldn't check how they look after they took a selfie. Moreover, in a recent Run BTS episode, the "Promise" crooner also mentioned about giving his father a make-up make-over without thinking about how the public would react about his statement. Instead, Jimin was lauded for normalizing the use of make-up on men.

BTS, as a whole, has redefined masculinity in many ways. They expressed themselves in the style and fashion that some may consider as feminine. They don't shy away in wearing bold prints, sequins, and bright colored outfits or accessorized themselves with earrings and rings.

The members of the chart-topping group always present themselves in public events with flawless makeup but they also not shy of showing their bare faces. They have been openly shared with their fans their skincare regimens as well.

BTS's aesthetic, however, is not the sole way on how they changed the norm about masculinity. Jimin and the rest of BTS have been very vocal about their emotions and not afraid to show it in public. In many instances, they cry while receiving accolades in award shows or they shed tears while sharing emotional messages to their fellow members and their fans.
