BTS was named Group of the Year by Variety magazine.

BTS joined the list of Variety's Hitmakers of the Year and joined top global acts like Billie Eilish, Ellie Goulding, Megan Thee Stallion, Swae Lee, Ryan Tedder, Louis Bell, YG, Jody Gerson, Jason Owen, and Republic Records for the honors.

Of the winners, BTS was the only Korean act to enter the prestigious list.

According to Variety, BTS was chosen by as the Group of the Year because "the record breaking septet has solidified their status as global superstars, rounding out one of the largest stadium tours of the year and releasing a strong of singles."

It can be recalled that BTS had a hot winning streak this year, earning nominations and awards to prestigious international music awards shows.

BTS was nominated for the Best Kpop and Best Group categories of the MTV Music Awards this year and won for both categories. The group also won Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) for the third year in a row and added a win for Top Duo/Group.

RM, J-Hope, Jin, Suga, V, Jimin and Jungkook also took home awards for Best International Group and Best Fandom at the Brazilian Breaktudo Music Awards. BTS also picked up victories at the Teen Choice Awards 2019 for Choice Fandom, Choice Collaboration, Choice International Artist and Choice Summer Tour.

For the first time, BTS also picked up nominations for Favorite Duo or Group for Pop or Rock category, Favorite Social Artist and Tour of the Year at the American Music Awards. The group also made its debut as presenters to this year's Grammy Music Awards.

It can be recalled that BTS members were tapped to present the winner for the Best in R & B category at the awards show, leading ARMYs to campaign heavily for a Grammy nomination for BTS in 2020.

In related news, the outfits worn by RM, J-Hope, Jin, Suga, V, Jimin and Jungkook will have a special place On the Red Carpet exhibit at the Grammy Museum in LA.

The tuxedos worn by BTS on this year's Grammy red carpet were made by Korean designers JayBaek Couture and Kim Seo Ryeong, according to a report by Billboard.

BTS's outfits will join iconic pieces worn by Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert, Lang Lang, Rita Ora, Kanye West, and even former First Lady Michelle Obama on the display.

The On the Red Carpet exhibit can be viewed by fans on the third floor of the Grammy Museum starting Nov. 19.
