Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, arrived in New Zealand to start their eight-day tour. To receive the traditional Maori welcome, the royal couple made an appearance at the Government House in Auckland on Tuesday.

Members of the armed forced welcomed Prince Charles and Camilla by pressing their forehead and nose against theirs. While the future king looked like a pro doing the gesture, his wife had a fashion blunder.

Probably unaware of the tradition, Camilla wore a hat that was quite big for the occasion. As a result, it made things a little awkward. As the Maori warrior pressed his forehead against the Duchess of Cornwall’s, he winced as the hat blocked their foreheads to touch.

Although she had a fashion fail, Camilla made it up with her tribute to the staff at the New Zealand domestic violence charity. “'You're all doing a brilliant job. Just listening to the survivors is so important. Hopefully today we can up the ante and raise a bit of awareness,” she said.

Adult safety program facilitator, Deanne Tindall, also spoke at the event. She shared how thankful she was for the royal’s specific focus on domestic violence, saying, “I just feel so grateful that she's chosen domestic violence to focus on. It's not a fashionable cause but it's a very important one.”

Meanwhile, Prince Charles caused quite a concern when he arrived in India last week. Royal fans couldn’t help but notice the future king’s swollen hands and feet. They were so painful-looking that many believed that he needed medical attention as soon as possible.

While there is no official explanation as to what happened to Prince Charles’ swollen hands and feet, it is quite possible that a long flight to India was the cause of the puffiness. But given his status, it is expected that a medical team travels with him, and they would never let him continue with his duties if he’s dealing with a major health crisis.

After seeing the photo, fans took to social media to share how much they appreciate Prince Charles’ dedication. “I admire Charles because he did not sit on his hands waiting to be King, he carved a niche for himself; The Princes Trust and turned The Duchy into a profitable organization,” one commented.

It is worth noting that, during Prince Charles and Camilla’s outing in New Zealand, the future king looked a lot better than he did during his India trip. With that said, his swollen hands and feet may not be as alarming as many initially thought.
