Prince William and Kate Middleton have once again proven how they protect their children and how they handle people who make fun of their family. The royal couple have reprimanded a radio host over a joke he made about Princess Charlotte.
BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show host Greg James may not get an invite from the royal family anytime soon after he had a talk with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge about the joke he made about their daughter, Princess Charlotte. James made a comment on his live broadcast about Charlotte's handshake with her new headteacher on her first day of school in September.
Back then, a little bit shy Charlotte was photographed when she arrived at Thomas' school in Battersea with her parents William and Kate and his big brother George. Like George, Princess Charlotte is now attending the private school in South London.
The four-year-old princess looked regal in her new school uniform and beaming when she greeted her new headteacher with a handshake. Unlike the first day of school of many students, the headteacher of the royal children was waiting by the door to greet them. The media took some photos to capture Charlotte attending her first class and Kate and William sending their kids in school.
Kate also looked excited as this is her first time to send their children to school. She missed George's first day of school because of morning sickness while pregnant with Prince Louis.
James, however, finds Charlotte's handshake an odd thing to do. He commented on the photo of how fancy the school must be for its students to shake hands with their teachers.
"Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day? They were not like that in my day. You were pleased if you got a smile," he joked on air.
It turned out the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were listening to his program and they were not amused by his comment. A few weeks later, James got invited to the Kensington Palace for Radio 1's Teen Heroes and the Cambridges brought up his comment about Charlotte.
James revealed to Mirror that Kate and William told him that they were listening on his show the morning Charlotte went to school and they want to talk to him about the handshake he mentioned. James did not elaborate on how the talk with the royals go but he expressed optimism that things are still fine between him and the Cambridges.
