Meghan Markle has become the center of many reports and controversies ever since she was revealed to be Prince Harry's girlfriend nearly three years ago. But, despite all the issues, she has been deemed by avid supporters as a royal figure who will "modernize" the monarchy.

Quite obviously, such statements were immediately contested by several individuals. As it happened, royal fans believe that instead of modernizing and changing the monarchy, she is causing damages and total embarrassment, especially to the queen.

According to Express UK, many royal authors and experts also take the same stand. Adrian Tinniswood, author of the popular Behind the Throne: A Domestic History of the Royal Household, claimed that Meghan Markle cannot and will not change the monarchy

Based on his statements, many have been asking him about the matter. Even so, his response has been always the same: she will not because "she is fleeting."

The author explained that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's positions are "difficult." While they face various controversies and issues, they are not going to make that much of a difference to the monarchy.

Of course, bad publicity will have its impacts. However, this won't be enough to cause a significant change. "She is not that important," he added.

It is worth noting that Prince Harry's position in the monarchy is not considered to be part of the "state machinery," and the same goes for his wife, Meghan Markle. This is because they are part of the royal family, but, they have a very different position as opposed to Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla or Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The royal author further contended that the angle is quite similar to Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon's positions in previous times. The couple had a lot more "freedom," which is why they were deemed as the "modern face" of the monarchy.

Similarly, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have more freedom, which only means that they are not that important. Accordingly, neither one of them will change or modernize the monarchy.

In relation to Princess Margaret's position in the past, Town and Country Living shared that the queen's late sister "paved the way" for the younger royals when she broke several "taboos" within the royal family. While these were unacceptable for the royals in the previous decades, times have changed and the rest of the family now followed.

Because of Princess Margaret, Prince William was able to get married to the non-royal, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry to the divorcee, Meghan Markle. In the end, however, this will not be enough for the Duchess of Sussex to be able to change the monarchy and become the face of the royal family.
