Prince Charles is now the "longest-serving" Heir Apparent in British history. Ever since his investiture as the Prince of Wales in 1969, the media and the public have set sights on the royal.

Unfortunately, he became much more popular because of the criticisms he obtained during his union with Princess Diana. This dynamic became much even worse when he confirmed his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Since then, many were certain that he is not fit to become the next monarch to replace Queen Elizabeth II. However, recent reports have been claiming that Prince Charles has already won the hearts and approval of the public.

According to Daily Express, Victoria Arbiter, who has written several books about the British royal family, shared that the Prince of Wales has now become the "nation's favorite." After decades of enduring "scorn and ridicule," it seemingly appears that the Heir Apparent has now able to redeem himself in the eyes of everyone.

Prince Charles appears to desire nothing but, good for the public. He has been quite loyal to his duties despite all the errors he made in the past, the royal expert and author added.

A huge change has been seen from the Prince of Wales after marrying Camilla Parker-Bowles in 2005. Whether it may be "rebranding" or due to experiencing a "happy marriage," whatever it is, it seems that it's working for the royal. This is because royal fans, as well as the majority of the public now sees him as a "charming granddad" as opposed to his cold image in the past, Arbiter further explained.

It was also claimed that Prince Charles looks a lot happier upon his official union with the Duchess of Cornwall. While the praise and approval may seem all because of his appealing condition today, other royal experts noted that his arduous efforts to fulfill his royal duties are also a factor.

For others, there were claims that Netflix's The Crown Season 3 has become a possible variable as to why the perceptions about Prince Charles have changed today. As per Refinery 29, the depiction of the young prince has helped several viewers to see how much he has been "misunderstood" since then.

So, it is likely that many have empathized with him causing their views to change in favor of the future king. However, the publication also noted that this might still change when the new season arrives.

As suggested, the show's upcoming installment will feature the Prince of Wales' life in the late 70s and early 80s, which were the years when his negative image started to emerge.
