The rivalry between Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon is getting tougher, but only when they play their respective roles in their TV series The Morning Show. The competition between the two stars is only on the screen and doesn't go beyond when the camera stopped rolling. This was assured by the sources who are close to the actresses amidst rumors that Aniston and Witherspoon are feuding on the show.

In Apple TV+ drama, Aniston plays the role of Alex Levy who runs the top-rated morning news program, The Morning Show. Witherspoon, on the other hand, portrays Alex's rival journalist, Bradley Jackson.

In the recent episode of The Morning Show Season 1, Alex's TV program traveled to California to cover the wildfires engulfing the state. The blazing situation got even hotter when tension between Alex and Bradley boiled over.

After Bradley's explosive interview with Mitch Kessler's (Steve Carell) accuser, she accused Alex of covering for her former co-host. Later on, they reconciled and opened up about the personal issues that they are both dealing with in their lives.

All of these fightings are only on-screen and nothing more. It was earlier rumored that Aniston and Witherspoon are fighting in real-life because of their show.

Prior to The Morning Show's premiere, In Touch claimed the Friends actress is jealous of Witherspoon's appearance in the show's promotional materials. Aniston allegedly felt the Big Little Lies actress looked too attractive on the poster and it is making her look worse.

Aniston's spokesperson, however, denied the claim. Jen's rep stressed to Gossip Cop that the actress has no issue with the design of the poster. If ever she has, Aniston would have done something about it before it was published. The site noted that Jen is most likely involved in the decision making of The Morning Show's promotions as she is one of its executive producers.

There was also a rumor that the two are blaming each other over the show's mediocre ratings. OK! claimed Aniston and Witherspoon are now playing the blaming game because of the mixed reviews of TMS.

Gossip Cop noted that the show had received a fair share of positive reviews and the two lead stars of the series are not blaming each other. They will continue to work together in its second season.

Apple TV+ also picked the second installment of the mini-series. Executive producer Mimi Leder also confirmed that she returns to work this month in preparation for the start of Season 2 filming February 2020.
