In 2017, the Duchess of Sussex met Kate Middleton. "She's been wonderful," the former Suits star said of the Duchess of Cambridge, per Us Weekly. The Duke of Sussex himself even commended his brother for showing fantastic support to his relationship.
Later that year, they got engaged and, in 2018, they got married. So, when did the fallout happen?
Rumors about the feud started when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be moving to Windsor, England. However, a source said that even though the two duchesses are not the best of friends and not often talking to each other, they have a bond that no one could break. They reportedly even have a group text chain, proving there is no fighting between the two.
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were even seen having a close bonding when they attended the pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, along with the rest of the family, last year. At the time, an insider said they made an effort to show their closeness in public.
The two women knew that they couldn't avoid each other, so they just worked on their issues. However, it couldn't be helped that there would be comparisons, and Meghan Markle reportedly felt like Kate Middleton set a very high standard. She even felt discouraged that the British public held her up to that, and the media continuously scrutinized her.
So, when Meghan Markle revealed that she is not "OK" on the controversial ITV documentary, Kate showed her sympathy, saying she hated seeing her sister- and brother-in-law miserable. She is concerned about their well-being but trying to distance herself from the drama.
