Supergirl season 5 episode 9 kicks of the epic Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. In this episode, The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) will send Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) to gather all the greatest heroes in different worlds.
That means this week's episode will see Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Batwoman (Ruby Rose), Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), and The Flash (Grant Gustin) preparing for the impending Crisis and to save everyone.
Their world is now in imminent danger, so these superheroes will team up for their biggest battle. Also, Supergirl season 5 episode 9 will see Alex (Chyler Leigh) and J'onn (David Harewood) recruiting Lena (Katie McGrath) to help them find a way on how to save people of Earth-38.
Meanwhile, CarterMatt noted that there would be a few changes in the upcoming episode, with Supergirl jumping an hour and will air 8 PM Eastern Time. After that, Batwoman will air around the same time on Monday, and The Flash on Tuesday. After the winter break, the crossover events will end in Arrow on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 8 PM and in Legends of Tomorrow at 9 PM.
Right now, however, the specific return date of Supergirl season 5 is not yet announced. But according to CarterMatt, the series will not be back until around mid or late January. Other events are happening early next year, like the Grammys and the Super Bowl, so there could be longer wait between normal episodes.
In another report, Katie McGrath, who plays Lena, talked about being part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. In an interview with TV Guide, the actress said she's happy being part of the biggest event since she's never been involved every year. She also revealed that she felt left out since the crossover event is a big deal, and a lot of things lead up to it.
As for how her character will be involved, it's safe to say that it has something to do with the presence of Lex Luthor. It seems like her resources and intellect will also be essential in the crossover event to help everyone from her Earth to stay alive.
Supergirl season 5 episode 9 will air on Sunday, Dec. 8, on The CW.
