Kim Woo Bin made sure to meet up with his good friend Hong Jong Hyun before the actor embarked on his military enlistment on December 2.

In an interview before his enlistment, Jong Hyun shared that the final friend he met up with before his enlistment was Kim Woo Bin, who recently made his first public appearance after his two-year bout with nasopharyngeal cancer.

It can be recalled that the two friends started their modeling career together before they starred on Vampire Idol in 2011.

"Kim Woo Bin is getting ready to return [to acting] while I'm facing a new start, so we met up and encouraged each other. Woo Bin was worried about me, and he cheered me on," Jong Hyun said.

The actor said that he was thankful for being able to enlist even though he was doing so along with soldiers who were younger than he was. He said that even though he was nervous and anxious, he looked forward to fulfilling his duty as a soldier.

Jong Hyun also shared his thoughts about spending the holidays and his birthday in the army and said that it would be an opportunity for something different while training as a soldier.

He assured fans that they don't need to worry because he will be spending his time reflecting on his life as he takes a break from work after ten years in the industry. As a final message, he expressed his gratitude to his supporters, who sent him well wishes before his enlistment.

Before his enlistment, Jong Hyun cheerfully shared images of his preparation. Through the Instagram page of his agency C-JeSEntertainment, the actor shared his visit to the salon where he received his buzz cut and greeted his fans in a video post. He told fans that even though it was going to be cold to train in December, he will come out of it stronger and healthier.

Hong Jong Hyun enlisted at the Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center in South Chungcheong Province, where he will receive five weeks of basic training before he is deployed to his assigned unit.

It can be recalled that in an earlier interview, Jong Hyun seemed confident about reporting for his mandatory enlistment. He said that he knew he was going to be an actor for a long time, so he didn't worry much about fulfilling his duties as a soldier. His last project before enlistment was the romantic comedy, My Absolute Boyfriend.
