Queen Elizabeth II couldn't be happier in gathering leaders of the most powerful countries in the world in her backyard. The Queen hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for the world leaders and NATO as it celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Amidst controversies surrounding some of her guests, the Queen managed to keep the affair relaxed and elegant. In a series of photos shared by the Queen on the official Instagram account of the royal family, the monarch is seen smiling as she greeted her guests.
The Queen along with Prince Charles, Camilla, Princess Anne, and Kate Middleton, welcomed the guests to the palace. Attendees include U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and more.
As soon as the photos were shared, royal fans can't help but admire the Queen. Many praised her for her energy throughout the royal banquet and her effort of bringing world leaders together.
However, one IG user felt the need to apologize to the Queen for having to chat and dine with Donald Trump. She wrote her apology on the Queen's IG photos in which one shows Her Majesty with Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. In the photo, POTUS is seen talking while the Queen intently listening to him with a serious look on her face.
"On behalf of us sane people in the United States, I'm so sorry Your Majesty," the royal fan wrote.
This fan couldn't be the only one who feels sorry for the Queen. Other members of her family might also feel the same.
Princess Anne has sparked speculation after a video showed the Queen seemingly gesturing to her daughter to greet Trump. The Royal Princess shrugged the Queen's request.
The video went viral, with some viewers suggesting the princess had snubbed POTUS and the first lady. Others, however, speculate that Princess Anne could have made a little shrug and laugh as if telling her mother "It's just me and this a lot" referring to the long line of world leaders that will greet the Queen.
Meanwhile, ahead of the reception at the palace, the Trumps met Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall for afternoon tea at Clarence House. The Prince of Wales also other NATO leaders including Trudeau, Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg, and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
