Meghan Markle has been taking things easy after she gave birth to baby Archie in May. She is in no rush to keep off the baby weight and has been enjoying motherhood. But what does the Duchess of Sussex do to maintain her health and figure? Here's her secret.
Since moving to London, Meghan Markle has been a loyal client of the acupuncturist Ross J Barr. The therapist even treated the former actress before her wedding with Prince Harry last year.
The Suits star also got Barr's service when she got heavy with a child to help improve the blood flow to her uterus. According to Express, she also received "a box of all-vegan foods" during her pregnancy from the therapist in collaboration with the health drink brand Purearth. It was to help boost her health while pregnant.
In an interview with The Times, Barr revealed that the creation of the healthy box was born due to the little support mothers got after they gave birth. He even said that the belief in Chinese medicine is that "the best way to stop a baby crying is to treat the mother."
If the mother is well taken care of and replenished, the baby feels the same way as well. However, it is a different thing to get a western mother to look after herself after childbirth. Hence, the box of healthy food Meghan Markle got was a collection of "researched tonics and juices" that aimed to replenish everything that she lost when she gave birth.
Royal reporter Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Meghan Markle was not in a hurry "to get back in shape." The 38-year-old royal used to be very fit before she got pregnant. She was very into her fitness regime.
In the early days, she used to run around the park in Kensington. Now, she is doing yoga. Her new fitness regime is never too strenuous. It is holistic and gentle.
Meghan Markle's yoga practice doesn't come as a surprise. Her mother, Doria Ragland, is a yoga teacher. In fact, Prince Harry's wife has often been talking about its benefits.
Ragland reportedly took up postpartum and baby yoga. Hence, it is the workout Meghan Markle is doing, too. The duchess also couples it with walks around Windsor Great Park and gentle exercises - never a hard training and no weights either.
Meghan Markle is enjoying her time with her kid and Prince Harry. She, too, is being gentle to herself.
