Prince Charles and Camilla are expected to have sent this 2019 Christmas card to their palace staff. The card has yet to be revealed in public, but many are already expecting that it is heartwarming just like in the previous years.
Charles has continued the tradition of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his grandfather, King George VI, of sending Christmas cards to their staff. Over the years, Charles' card featured pictures of himself and his wife, Camilla.
The couple's message on their Christmas cards-which is "Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year-did not change over the years. However, royal fans are still anticipated their holiday gift to their staff mainly because of the photo that is featured in the annual festivity card.
Last year, Clarence House released the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall's Christmas card that showed the couple sitting on a park bench, smiling at each other. A year before that, their card featured the pair dressed elegantly during Camilla's 70th birthday party earlier in July.
In 2016, the card featured a picture from the couple's royal tour of Croatia as they were surrounded by local performers in traditional dress. Their 2015 Christmas card showed a happy couple as they were seen cuddling during their summer holiday in Scotland.
The anticipation for the royal couple's Christmas card has been brought into light after it was revealed that the past greeting cards that Queen Elizabeth II had sent to her palace staff will be auctioned this week. The card will be auctioned by a married couple who worked for the Queen and Prince Philip's summer retreat of Balmoral Castle in Scotland for over 25 years.
The couple recently placed some of the Christmas cards they have collected for auction in Cambridgeshire. The items are expected to fetch between $130 and $200 per card.
The earliest photo from the couple's collection is from 1947. It shows King George VI and the Queen Mother with the young Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, who is playing the piano. The other cards show the growth of Queen Elizabeth II's family.
Rowley's Antiques and Fine Art Auctioneers Roddy Lloyd told People Magazine that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh must have regarded the couple in high esteem since the cards were signed "Elizabeth R" and "Philip" in ink.
Meanwhile, many royal fans are also waiting for this year's Christmas card of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. This year would be the first Christmas card appearance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first child, Baby Archie.
