Queen Elizabeth II is now 93 years old. There are reports that she may abdicate her throne when she turns 95, but Clarence House already dismissed the claim. But as the Monarch's age is now evident, her descendants have been reportedly told to "raise their game" as a preparation to take her reign.

Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning monarch in Britain. However, at her age, royal experts believe it's time to make the younger royals rule the monarchy, per Express. On the Heir Pod royal podcast, royal expert Victoria Arbiter and co-host Omid Scobie talked about the young royals' roles in the realm after the scandals that Her Majesty faced this year.

Scobie revealed that Kensington Palace aides said that Kate Middleton would focus on her Early Years development projects in the first and second quarter of 2020. She would be actively involved in several royal engagements, taking more duties as needed.

As Queen Elizabeth might step back from some of her royal duties, the younger royals have to step forward and put in a lot of work. Arbiter even explained that Kate Middleton was quite fortunate to have her kids at an early age, giving her the time to be a hands-on mom. However, she now has to work on her schedule to support the Queen.

Anyhow, it is not only Kate Middleton who will get busier come 2020, but all of them. As Prince Andrew withdrew from his royal duties, the workload now increases for everyone. Hence, Princess Anne might also have to step up and support her mother much more.

The coming year would be a big year of adjustment, change, and adapting for Queen Elizabeth. Although she is not going anywhere, it might be the right time that everyone in the royal family should start raising their game.

Although there might be no way that Queen Elizabeth would abdicate the throne, the gradual passing of some of her royal duties to her heir, Prince Charles, is evidently seen and unfolding in recent years. "I think given the Queen's age, she probably is planning to hand over more to Charles," royal author Katie Nicholl said, via CBC.

Nicholl added that she couldn't see Her Royal Highness bowing out from her royal duties until her platinum jubilee, which would mark her 70 years reigh as the queen in 2022. Queen Elizabeth might never retire until she is in good health and capable. In fact, the Queen herself always said that being the leader of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms is a "job for life."
