BTS' maknae Jungkook may still be charged for negligence in his recent car crash with a taxi. This came after police forwarded his case to the prosecution.

According to a report by Soompi, the singer reached an amicable settlement with the taxi driver who sustained minor injuries because of the accident, but law enforcement officers are still recommending that the singer be charged.

"We summoned Jungkook for questioning on November 28 and wrapped up our investigation. He and the victim made an amicable settlement, but because his negligence was a major part of the accident, we forwarded him to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment," the police indicated in their report.

Based on a report by South China Morning Post, Jungkook cooperated fully with the police investigation and admitted that he committed an error while he was driving in central Seoul.

After the accident, Big Hit Entertainment allayed the fears of the fans and assured that both Jungkook and the taxi driver were not seriously injured. It can be recalled that police booked the BTS member for investigation about the incident.

As netizens criticized Jungkook for his negligence, ARMYs rose to his defense on Twitter and other social media platforms to air their support for the idol. ARMYs praised Jungkook for being mature and for taking responsibility for his error. They also said that he did not evade his liability to the other party and made sure that the other driver was in good condition.

However, after the police report was forwarded to the prosecution, Big Hit has still not responded about their position about the new development.

This was not the first time the BTS maknae was embroiled in controversy this year. It can be recalled that Jungkook was involved in dating rumors with a female tattoo artist after footage was revealed from his vacation where the singer appeared to be hugging the woman, Koreaboo reported.

Rumors quickly sent ARMYs into a panic when another photo surfaced later, showing Jungkook and the female tattoo artist having drinks together. Jungkook denied the rumors, and fans who reached out to the tattoo artists' friends also confirmed that she had a boyfriend who was not Jungkook.

After suffering through months of bashing, the owner of the tattoo shop where the female artist worked also spoke up to appeal to netizens to stop harassing his employee. The shop owner bewailed that some netizens continued to post negative comments despite denials from all parties involved.
