Princess Beatrice may be opting for a destination wedding instead of having the ceremony in London. A royal expert believes that this would be a better choice in light of her father Prince Andrew's scandal.
According to Angela Mollard, Princess Beatrice could consider having her wedding in Italy next year to get away from the scrutiny brought on by Prince Andrew's controversy. Italy is where the family of her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, resides and while it's not customary for royals to veer off from tradition and get married outside of London, Princess Beatrice is such a private person that this faraway wedding could suit what she wants.
Mollard said that Princess Beatrice's wedding plans have been overshadowed by Prince Andrew. So, under the circumstances, a wedding abroad could be a better choice.
The expert said that Princess Beatrice will also not likely go with the idea of having her wedding televised. Prince Andrew and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, wanted the TV coverage for Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank last October 2018 and they are reportedly pushing for the same deal for Princess Beatrice.
Mollard said that it's not in the character of the older York sister to agree to the televised wedding. Compared to the outgoing Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice is apparently the quiet type.
More recently, Princess Beatrice and Mozzi changed their earlier plans to hold an engagement party at a posh London club for Dec. 18. According to reports, that plan was shut down because of fears that photographers will be waiting outside to get a glimpse of Prince Andrew.
Concerned friends of Princess Beatrice instead said that she and Mozzi will likely have the engagement party at a friend's private estate. This way, the guests won't be disturbed by paparazzi and her father can come to the venue without the media spectacle.
Meanwhile, Sarah hinted that she will see to it that the staff servicing at her daughter's wedding will be happy as much as the guests. In an interview with Vogue, the Duchess of York shared that the chauffeurs during Princess Eugenie's wedding last year had a wonderful time because she ensured they had a good place to party as well. In all likelihood, this will be the same arrangement for Princess Beatrice's wedding day.
Princess Beatrice has not yet revealed the date and location of her actual wedding day though. Buckingham Palace said that it will not be commenting on the speculations about the Queen's granddaughter's special day.
