The premiere of The Witcher is only a week away and Netflix has dropped the final trailer that could prove just how epic the highly anticipated fantasy series is going to be. The teaser offers a glimpse at the greater conflict between Nilfgaard and Cintra as the former decides to go after Princess Cirilla. In addition to that, there are more footage of Geralt of Rivia fighting against monsters and Yennefer of Vengerberg getting into the action herself.

The Wticher trailer doesn't waste time putting the focus on Princess Cirilla, who is declared as the Lion Cub of Cintra. Unfortunately, there is trouble ahead as Geralt of Rivia makes it clear that Ciri's safety is in danger. He reveals that he has seen an army approaching and describes it as "a sea of black and gold." Fans who are familiar with Andrzej Sapkowski's books will immediately recognize this as the Nilfgaard army marching forward to take the young princess.

It isn't long before the kingdom of Cintra takes up arms against the forces of Nilfgaard but Princess Ciri is immediately sent away so she could not be captured. Unfortunately, things don't go too smoothly for the girl as she doesn't have the company who could protect her. "I need to find Geralt of Rivia," she declares at one point. This could mean that Geralt will not find Ciri right away.

Although Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg don't unite with Princess Ciri in the trailer, that doesn't mean that there aren't troubles ahead for them. At one point, Geralt goes up against some monsters while Yennefer uses her powers to fight a number of men. But can they find Ciri in time? The truth will be revealed once The Witcher premieres next week.

The description for the upcoming series reveals that "The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together."

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Freya Allen as Princess Ciri. The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 20.
