The action continues for Mando and Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4. Not surprisingly, Chapter Four: Sanctuary was filled with awesome fight sequences as well as surprising Easter Eggs. After all, the new episode of the Star Wars series paid tribute to the Akira Kurosawa classic Seven Samurai. In addition to that, the show made sure to pay homage to one of the iconic scenes from Return of the Jedi.

In The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4, Mando and Baby Yoda end up on the planet Sorgan where only a few people live. The duo immediately encounters a mercenary named Cara Dune, who mistakes Mando for a bounty hunter who was sent to capture her, but after fighting, they realize that they are both trying to find sanctuary. Unfortunately, peace doesn't last too long for them as they are approached by two fishermen who want them to drive away from the raiders that have been terrorizing their village.

Mando and Cara Dune agree then begin training the villagers to fight. When the raiders attack, Cara provokes the AT-ST that the raiders have with them to destroy it. Luckily, the chicken walker collapses into a pond where Mando manages to blow it up as the raiders escape.

If it sounds like a familiar scenario, it's the same premise like Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, the 1954 film where a group of ronin is asked by farmers to defend their village. It's a highly influential movie that has been copied several times and not just by the Star Wars series.

The appearance of the AT-ST also resembles the epic battle in Return of the Jedi where the Ewoks went up against the chicken walker. Interestingly, the villagers' fight against the remnant of the Galactic Empire looked a lot like Episode VI. Likewise, their celebration as they defeated the raiders and the AT-ST was reminiscent of how the Ewoks reacted in their victory.

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4 also answered several questions about Mando's past. When asked by a villager named Omera about his helmet, Mando revealed that he has never taken it off since he was a child. In addition to that, he tells Omera that the Mandalorian tribe raised him after his parents were killed. These are all interesting details that could play a larger role in the show's upcoming episodes.
