Taylor Swift wowed everyone in the red carpet premiere of Cats in New York City on Monday, Dec. 16. The 30-year-old singer made everyone's head turned as she donned a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown from the fashion house's pre-spring 2020 collection.
The floral floor-length gown features a strapless top and has pockets on both sides of the skirt. The pop giant takes advantage of the design when she slides her hands in it while striking a post in front of the photographers. According to the Insider, the attention-grabbing ruby dress reportedly costs $17,990 and is currently sold out from Oscar de la Renta's website.
To complete her look, Taylor Swift donned a simple red satin Chloe Gosselin heels, Maxior drop earrings, and a Borgioni double ring. She also sported a Beladora Oscar Heyman sapphire ring, which has a whopping price of $13,500.
Joe Alwyn's girlfriend wore her hair up and a classic red lip for a more sophisticated look. With her height and stature, the hitmaker looked like a model more than a singer and an actress.
Meanwhile, talking about her role as Bombalurina in Cats, Taylor Swift told Entertainment Tonight that she is more of a "feral type" cat than her three domestic cats. "My cats are beautifully round and fuzzy, and they look like little lazy bears, they're always taking naps. They're not really the kind of cat that I'm playing," she said.
To effectively play her role, she attended a cat school to learn how to move like a feline and a lot of choreography. As a part of their preparation, the songwriter, along with the cast, sang and danced 12 hours a day. Their cat school teacher, Sarah, also used one of her cats, Olivia, as an inspiration to Rebel Wilson's role as Jennyanydots.
In addition, Taylor Swift and other cast of Cats, like Jason Derulo, Francesca Hayward, James Corden, and Jennifer Hudson joined the TV host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots to give a new twist on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon's classic Classroom Instruments segment. They all got together to pre-tape a special performance of the classic Barbara Streisand song, "Memory," which was the movie's official soundtrack, in an ornate ballroom in New York City.
However, instead of using classroom instruments, they used the things that they would find in an alleyway, like trash can lids, buckets, rain gutter, milk bottles, and brooms. They coupled it with busking instruments, such as guitars and tambourines, and the result is hilarious.
