Electric vehicle giant Tesla announced on Monday that the Tesla Smart Summon is available on China. With the feature, Tesla users can summon their Tesla vehicles at a designated location. Tesla fan Tesla_Mania shares on Twitter the good news.
The release of Tesla Smart Summon on china is not only providing users with a new level of convenience but also an excellent way for the US electric vehicle maker to gather more data and enhance the feature. Additionally, China is anticipating an influx of Tesla MIC Model 3 next year, and the feature would come handy in advertising and promoting the vehicle.
The US electric vehicle maker released the Tesla Smart Summon in Sept. 2019 along with the V10 software update. Although the first rollout was not that perfect, the company released improvements through over the air updates that made the feature smooth and far reliable over the past months. Smart Summon is available for consumers who purchased Enhanced Autopilot or Full-Self Driving.

The Tesla Smart Summon feature also enables the Tesla vehicle to navigate a parking area and proceed to its owner or a destination. This is made possible even without a driver inside the vehicle, thus the name. Tesla CEO Elon Musk last week hinted on the possible release of the holiday software of the company that comes with the much awaited sneak preview of the Full Self-Driving. The update might release a feature-complete version of the Full Self-Driving to a particular batch on the early access program. However, we have not seen any reports so far related to the much talked about feature.

The autonomous driving capabilities of Tesla vehicles will aid the company in achieving its objective of producing a fleet of Robotaxis. If the plan pans out in the not so far future, tesla's value would dramatically surge. Elon Musk believes that "a fully autonomous car that can function as a Robotaxi is several times more valuable than a non-autonomous car."

YouTuber Daniel Spalding tested and showcased the Smart Summon ability of his Tesla vehicle. In a video, the YouTuber used the Come To Me feature on a snow-capped parking lot. The test was challenging considering that the area has poor visibility because of the snow and because of the absence of road lines. Interestingly, the Tesla vehicle with Smart Summon feature aced the test.
