MBC's Section TV recently expressed concern that Seungri will begin his enlistment without any punishment.

According to a report by All Kpop, the network recently raised concern that Seungri may enlist at any time without being charged for prostitution, mediating prostitution, embezzlement, and destruction of evidence in relation to the Burning Sun Scandal. He was also accused of illegal gambling and was investigated for hwangchigi, or illegal foreign exchange transactions.

Based on the latest investigation on illegal gambling, Seungri admitted to gambling billions of won in Las Vegas casinos but denied that he was involved in illegal foreign exchange transactions.

In October, police reportedly forwarded the results of their investigation to the prosecution, recommending that Seungri and former YG Entertainment CEO be charged with illegal overseas gambling, All Kpop reported.

Seungri's name was also mentioned in Jung Joon Young's illegal spycam case but a copy of the verdict showed that Seungri was part of a separate chat group for business. In fact, VIPs came together to trend #ApologizeToSeungri to call out news agencies for falsely reporting that he was part of the sex scam. After the sentencing for Joon Young and Choi Jong Hoon, evidence revealed that on the single occasion that Seungri's name was mentioned in the verdict, he got angry at the person who shared an illicit video on the business group chat.

VIPs claimed the irresponsible reporting from news networks ruined Seungri's image with speculations about his involvement in the Burning Sun scandal and various other cases. They even cited the statement of Burning Sun CEO Lee Moon Ho early in the case that Seungri was only a consultant for the establishment and was not involved with its operations and management.

Seungri has earlier applied for the postponement of his original March 25 enlistment date, citing that he wanted to answer all of the charges before he embarked on his mandatory service.

Under the rules of the Mandatory Manpower Administration, an individual may apply for a delay in the enlistment for five times within a two year period until the age of 30. This means Seungri can still apply for postponement until next year if he chooses to.

According to a Koreaboo report, if Seungri does not apply for another postponement before he turns 30 next year, there is a possibility that his investigation will be turned over to the military police at the time of his enlistment.
