JYP Entertainment is not pleased with what happened to TWICE's Dahyun at the airport. The agency has announced that they will take legal action on the matter and also appeal to the public to stop spreading the singer's private information.

Over the weekend, the members of the Korean girl group TWICE left the country for Japan. They are scheduled to film New Year's Eve TV special Kohaku Uta Gassen at NHK.

While passing through the inspection counter at the Gimpo International Airport, Dahyun presented her passport to female airport personnel. The staff flipped the passport, exposing its information page that includes the singer's unique identification number and resident registration number.

Dahyun quickly reached out and covered the page with her hand. She clearly looked pissed at the female officer. Observers at the airport reported that the TWICE member appeared visibly upset about what happened but still managed to keep her cool.

The entire incident was caught on camera by the fans and the media tailing the K-pop group at the airport. Now, the videos and photos of Dahyun's zoomed passport information page are making round on the internet.

Netizens took to Twitter to express their concern for the singer's safety because of it. Netizens agree that the airport personnel should be fired for the negligence of private information and inappropriate behavior.

It is not yet clear if the airport personnel intentionally flashed Dahyun's passport towards the cameras. However, many fans expressed suspicious of her as she appeared to look up at the cameras facing her before she flipped through Dahyun's passport.

JYP Entertainment has released a statement to address the matter. The agency stressed that leaking and spreading personal information is against the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws.

It appealed to the public to stop spreading the videos and photos of the incident. JYP said they will take legal action regarding the incident.

K-pop idols have been very careful with their private information as it is often used by obsessed fans, also called sasaeng in Korea, to stalk their favorite singers. Many Korean singers have experienced traumatizing visits from sasaeng who found out where they lived or in which hotel they were staying.

An airport, or even inside the airplane, is one of the places that sasaengs are frequently present. A few months ago, JYP talent and GOT7 member Jackson approached a sasaeng that he recognized and confronted her for leaking his personal information.
