After more than three months of hiatus from promotion, TWICE's Mina has finally returned on stage. The Korean singer made a surprise appearance during the K-pop group's 4th-anniversary fan meeting in Seoul over the weekend.
TWICE had two ONCE Halloween 2 fan meeting schedule at Seoul's Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium: 1 p.m. KST and 6 p.m. KST. Mina appeared in the 1 p.m. scheduled.
She did not only attended the fan meeting, but Mina also took the stage and performed songs with her bandmates. TWICE's label, JYP Entertainment, confirmed Mina's special appearance at the fan meet.
TWICE fans, also known as ONCE, took to Twitter to express their excitement over Mina's return. Many are happy to see the Japanese member back on stage and is doing well on her recovery from anxiety.
TWICE members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu were also happy to be with Mina again. In some of the photos shared by fans online, the 22-year-old singer was seen holding hands with her groupmates.
Everyone got a bit emotional when Mina gave a very brief but meaningful message to their fans and her bandmates. She said "thank you" to all the members and fans while holding back her tears and the members giving her a group hug.
Earlier this year, JYP Entertainment revealed that Mina is dealing with a mental health issue. In mid-July, the agency officially announced that Mina was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, and she will not participate in the promotion of TWICE's latest album, Feel Special, to focus on her health.
Mina recorded songs and appeared on the music video for the lead track "Feel Special" but skipped the album promotions. Aside from group promotional activities in South Korea, Mina was also pulled out of the TWICE world tour that kicked off in Seoul in May. The singer failed to join her group in the U.S. leg of the tour that started on July 17.
During the TWICE tour, the members never forget to pay tribute to Mina. In their performances, the group keeps Mina's line and their dance choreography the same. At one tour stop, the members broke down in tears when a fan-made video was shown on the screen, and the audience turned on their lightsticks to green, which is Mina's official color.
Meanwhile, after their fan meeting, TWICE will be heading off to Japan to continue their TWICELIGHTS world tour. The Japan leg will kick off in Hokkaido on October 23. The group will visit a total of seven cities in Japan. The K-pop female group is also scheduled to release their second Japanese album, titled &TWICE, on November 20.
