Prince William is passionate about many things, and for 2020, he is kicking off his work by combining two of these passions: mental health and football. The Duke of Cambridge is expanding his mental health organization, Heads Up, with a special project for those who love football just like him, and it all starts with the release of a new short documentary.

The Duke of Cambridge lent his voice to the documentary Take A Minute, which aims to encourage football fans to reassess themselves and then take action on the state of their mental health. The documentary is set to run before the third-round match of this year's Emirates FA Cup.

In the video, Prince William's voice is heard saying that he feels "anxious or stressed" like everyone else. He then goes on to talk about Heads Up and his other mental health advocacies with his wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William also said that it's significant to spread the message of this campaign at such a sporting event since mental health is as important as physical health. Dubbed the Head's Up: Football Unites for Mental Health, Prince William wants football fans to become comfortable talking about their struggles as much as they love discussing the sport.

According to Town & Country, this initiative was actually launched in 2019 but Kensington Palace recently announced it got the support of four national governing football bodies in the U.K. -- the FA, SFA, FAW and IFA. Prince William's goal of making the mental health part of the larger conversation is slowly coming together.

Meanwhile, Prince William also launched a project called the Earthshot Prize on New Year's Eve. The aim of this initiative is to find solutions to combat climate change and pollution.

To motivate the public, Prince William said that the Earthshot Prize would award five winners with cash within 10 years if they have really good ideas to help save Earth. Over 60 other organizations will be consulted in the process of determining the winners.

Anyone can submit their ideas, whether as individuals or teams of experts or non-experts. Prince William is giving the 10-year framework as every human being has "a decade of action to repair the earth."

The Earthshot Prize was inspired by the moonshots following the lunar landing in 1969, which served as a catalyst for the development of new technology. Many scientific innovations were developed during this period, such as the MRI scanner and the satellite dish.
