FT Island's Minhwan and former LABOUM member Yulhee have finally revealed the gender of their twins, and it turns out the couple is welcoming beautiful baby girls to their growing family.
According to a report by All Kpop, the couple revealed the news during an episode of My House Husband where they are featured as regular cast members.
During the episode, Yulhee's dad arrived to visit Minhwan and his daughter and brought gifts for his "granddaughters."
In an interview, Yulhee expressed her happiness over the news and said that she always wanted daughters. She said that she already felt like she everything she could have wished for with her husband and son. When she received the news that she was carrying twin baby girls, she was ecstatic.
Minhwan also expressed excitement over welcoming daughters into their growing family. He said he could not wait until they came out and he could buy them princess outfits. He said he planned to dress them in matching outfits all the time.
It can be recalled that, during an earlier episode of My House Husband, Minhwan expressed apprehension over enlisting for the military and leaving behind Yulhee to care for the twins on her own.
He said he was afraid that he would get called to serve just as his twins came out, which would make it hard for his wife. In response, his mother assured him that he should not worry about Yulhee even though she would have to adjust to the new setup. She said that it is not a shame to go to the military and fulfill his civic duty.
Last year, there were plenty of speculations that surfaced about Minhwan's potential exemption from military service given his situation of having three kids. However, the Military Manpower Administration clarified that no clause qualifies the FT Island member from an exemption based on the number of children he had.
Only individuals who have less than 68.6 million won (approximately $56,458) and less than 1,845,414 won (approximately $1,520) income per month for a four-member family are exempted from service. Individuals who apply for exemption should also prove that none of the family members can earn income for the family for the duration of the 21-month enlistment.
However, Minhwan can serve as a reservist position upon completing his basic military service. He can apply for deployment in positions in homeland defense which will enable him to commute home daily to be with his family, Soompi reported.
