Kate Middleton wasn't named in the list Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would continue to work with. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced changes in their roles as members of the royal family and they stated that would still collaborate with the Queen, Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge as they move forward in their new roles.
According to Daily Express, Kate was left out in the list along with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Buckingham Palace is, reportedly, disappointed and hurt that Prince Harry and Meghan made their plans to transition from senior royals public when nothing has yet been set in stone.
The palace issued a statement that the discussions with the Sussex royals are still in the early stages. But, since Prince Harry and Meghan released the details on their website, Queen Elizabeth, reportedly, wants this matter settled within the next few days.
The news comes as Kate is celebrating her 38th birthday on Jan. 9. Prince Harry and Meghan posted their birthday greetings in the comments of the Kensington Royal Instagram account with an emoji and a heart. While some royal fans slammed the Sussexes for their post, others appreciated the gesture from Prince Harry and Meghan.
According to Huffington Post, some royal fans even think it was Meghan who wrote the birthday greeting to share a subtle emotion with the heart emoji. In the past, the Sussexes' standard Instagram birthday greeting usually includes just a birthday cake or balloon emoji.
Meanwhile, royal experts said that Kate is the number one priority of Queen Elizabeth when it comes to the future of the monarchy. The Duchess of Cambridge will officially become the Queen Consort when Prince William takes the throne after his father's reign.
Royal commentator Neil Sean said that Kate grew into one of the most beloved royals because of her approach to motherhood. Despite her status as the future Queen, Kate is a hands-on mother with a no-nonsense attitude. She also relates well to the people who have come to love her.
