A royal expert has dubbed Prince William and Kate Middleton as the new Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Robert Jobson, the author of the book "Charles: Our Future King" also believes that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be a "major force" in the diplomatic relations of the U.K.
Speaking with Hello! Jobson said that Prince William and Kate's position in the royal family will be ever-evolving. He likened their presence to that of Prince William's parents, who were also quite successful as a royal pair in the world stage in the early days of their marriage.
As Prince William and Kate embraces more duties in 2020 and the future, Jobson believes the Prince Charles will be taking over some of Queen Elizabeth's royal visits overseas. He might also take a crucial role in the Commonwealth Heads of Government, which happens in Rwanda, and could potentially do another royal tour of an African country.
Royal expert Penny Juror said that Prince Charles, as it is, is carrying a huge amount of workload or his mother, the Queen. The Prince of Wales is one of the most hardworking royals who doesn't take coffee breaks nor lunches and has a stellar work ethic.
Juror also said that Prince Charles has this desire to make a difference so he is a hardworker. He's also got an appetite for knowledge and both of these traits he has passed on to his two boys: Prince William and Prince Harry.
However, Prince Harry dropped a bombshell this week and announced that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, are stepping aside from their royal duties. The Sussex pair are not renouncing their titles but they asserted that they would like to earn a professional income and be financially independent from the royal family.
The announcement, apparently, hurt Prince William who felt that he was blindsided by his brother. A source told Us Weekly that the rift between the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex remains.
Prince William used to be the one person Prince Harry could go to for major news like this. It appears, however, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not consult Prince William nor Prince Charles when they made their announcement.
Buckingham Palace responded to Prince Harry and Meghan's announcement by saying that while it understands how the Sussex pairs want to take a different approach, there are still complicated issues that the royals have to work through. Prince Charles, on other other hand, have not had any comments but sources said that, like Prince William, he is also shocked by the decision of Prince Harry and Meghan.
