Prince Charles, the future King of England, is not going to give up on Prince Harry. After the Duke of Sussex announced, along with his wife Meghan Markle, that they would like their roles in the royal family to be different, his father vowed to support the Sussex couple regardless of the outcome of their rash decision.
According to Mirror, Prince Charles is worried for Prince Harry's emotional welfare. The father and son had "a series of heartfelt discussions" before the Sussex dropped the bombshell.
Sources said that Prince Charles sees how Prince Harry is at his "tipping point" after expressing his unhappiness for his future as a royal. The insider stated that there is much concern from the Prince of Wales for Prince Harry, Meghan, and their baby Archie Harrison. In one of their talks, Prince Charles vowed to his son that he would be there no matter what happens.
The source also said that Prince Charles is genuinely worried about what this "stepping down as senior royals" means as it can only lead to Prince Harry and Meghan completely renouncing their royal life. For Charles, Prince Harry and Meghan are still beneficial to The Firm, and it's no secret that their popularity has an impact on the monarchy, not just in Britain but around the world.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth was reportedly crushed when Prince Harry defied her orders not to make a statement about their semi-withdrawal from royal life. According to reports, Prince Harry proceeded with publishing the announcement on the Sussex Royal website despite having no explicit agreement about their new arrangements with Buckingham Palace.
Prince Charles and Prince William apparently got a copy of the statement ten minutes before the website was to go live. Prince Harry had been talking to his family over Christmas, but it seemed like the Sussex royals couldn't wait to get their issues sorted behind the palace gates.
Friends of Prince Harry and Meghan, both in the U.S. and Canada, are said to be supportive of their decision to retire as senior royals. They also noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have long felt that The Firm sidelined them.
In addition to their semi-retirement, Prince Harry and Meghan also expresses that they would like to live in two regions: the U.K. and North America, as they work to gain financial independence while still supporting Queen Elizabeth.
