Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been reported to enjoy the "party lifestyle" since then. Although it is not clear whether the couple has already moved on from this kind of living, it seemed like things have changed since Archie was born.
In November, the Sussex couple announced their official six-week off from royal duties. While they were slammed for their usual break from work, it was said that they had the Queen's blessing and approval.
Along with Archie Harrison, the Duke and Duchess celebrated Thanksgiving Day in Los Angeles. It was also revealed that the former actress's mother, Doria Ragland, was with them.
It became a surprise, however, that the Sussex household did not return in the United Kingdom for the Christmas and New Year festivities. Despite the traditions that the royals have been observing for the holidays, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose to stay in Canada to have their private celebrations.
According to Time, although the family was far away from the rest of the royals, they still shared their "modest" greetings. As it happened, the e-card that they posted on social media was not grand. Instead, they just included a photo of their small family with Archie Harrison at the center.
Based on recent claims, this was a very different dynamic for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The reason being is that they used to celebrate the holiday season in the past with lavish and expensive bashes.
As per Express UK, it was different then, "before Archie." This is because, in 2017, the then-engaged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went to French Riviera during the season and celebrated with friends. It was also revealed that they were with Prince Albert of Monaco, and his wife, Princess Charlene, who are both close friends with the Duke of Sussex.
The Sussex couple were also attested to stay in a "very private" and "very expensive" location. They sure did enjoy their time together in Monaco, one source added.
Other sources further shared that they all "partied like tycoons," given that Monaco is the "party central" during Christmas and New Year's Eve. It was "never understated" and truly costs a fortune.
Daily Express also unveiled that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry flew with the three bodyguards for that trip alone. Accordingly, it is not surprising why the general public deemed the couple's recent celebration of Christmas and New Year as "low-key" and very private.
