Tensions are growing within Buckingham Palace after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they will be stepping back from being senior royals. Now, a new report claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to have a tell-all interview that will put pressure on Queen Elizabeth.
Her Majesty summoned senior royals for a face-to-face talk to Sandringham on Monday, so they could discuss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s withdrawal and the couple's future roles. British journalist, novelist, and a close friend of the Duke of Sussex, Tom Bradby, then, revealed that the royal couple may release an interview if Queen Elizabeth doesn’t give in to their demands.
“Tom Bradby from ITN has warned that if the royal family mishandle this there might be an interview with Harry and Meghan presumably with Bradby which will be even more incandescently dangerous for them,” Andrew Marr said on BBC One today. Alison Phillips, the editor of the Daily Mirror, then, told Marr that “it is an implied threat. Bradby is suggesting the interview they could do would claim racism and sexism is at the heart of the palace and this could really shake the monarchy." Andrew Marr then added, “This could turn into a proper monarchial crisis.”
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Buckingham Palace have not addressed this matter as of this writing.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened up about their royal life to Tom Bradby. Back in October, the royal couple starred in an ITV documentary, where they revealed their struggles being in the limelight.
Meghan Markle is constantly being criticized after she tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. But, the bashing became even more intense when she shared about her struggles with life in the spotlight as people saw it as complaining and her being spoiled.
During the interview with Tom Bradby, the anchor asked Meghan Markle about the impact of public scrutiny on her. The Duchess of Sussex, then, replied, “thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I'm OK. But it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
Although Meghan Markle said some valid points, a lot of netizens were not impressed at all. Instead of receiving some sympathy, she was bashed even more for it.
