Is the trimming down of the royal family starting? This is what a fan seems to suggest after Queen Elizabeth announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can no longer use their His/Her Royal Highness (HRH) titles. However, a royal fan pointed out one telling "error" about this announcement, which could also affect Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as some members of the royal family.

In a post on Twitter, @RoyalArjan said that Buckingham Palace's announcement about Prince Harry and Meghan's situation seemed odd after it termed HRH as "titles." The palace also stated that only working royals are called HRH but that's where the fan got confused.

RoyalArjan said that HRH is not a title but a style. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are also called HRH but they are not working royals. Queen Elizabeth's cousins, the Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, are also not working royals and have their own commercial ventures. The fan said that this "error" in the announcement appears to be very significant, which prompted other royal fans to ask -- could Princess Beatrice and Eugenie be stripped off the HRH style next?

Meanwhile, other royal observers expressed their disappointment over this blunder. According to Daily Mail, the Sussexes were, in fact, allowed to retain their HRH titles but Prince Harry and Meghan decided they will not use this. Instead, they will be simply known as Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

On their official website, however, Prince Harry and Meghan's announcement still contained "Their Royal Highnesses;" thus, creating more confusion. Some fans pointed out that the Queen's message will take effect in Spring 2020, when Prince Harry and Meghan will officially become private individuals.

In addition to losing HRH, Prince Harry will also be dropping his official military titles. As the couple plan on going commercial, it's expected that they will rebrand Sussex Royal into a charity and social enterprise.

Prince Harry and Meghan also expressed that they will be paying off the cost of the renovation of Frogmore Cottage. The couple will continue to use this property as their home in London, if they are in town. However, reports revealed that the Sussex intend to spend most of their time in Canada and the United States, where they are likely to build their brand by tapping Hollywood and other business executives.
