Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for almost a decade now. The Cambridge couple, along with their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, seemingly enjoy their lives as members of the Royal Family.
But, despite all the happiness and delight that the public can see from the Cambridge family, they, too, have been in the spotlight of media and public scrutiny. In fact, this even goes back during the future King and Queen's university years while they are still dating.
Even so, recent reports stated that the Duke of Cambridge has been trying everything just to protect his then-girlfriend and now-wife from the very thing that caused the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
According to Express UK, royal reporter, Robert Jobson previously shared in his 2006 published work titled, William's Princess, that Prince William put a "strategy in place" since then to protect Kate Middleton's privacy. It was revealed that he hid his true feelings about his and Kate's "blossoming relationship."
As it happened, the eldest son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana used to quash any ideas of marriage with the now-Duchess of Cambridge during their dating years. "William is no fool," Jobson described.
A specific event back in 2005 was referenced by the publication. During this time, the young prince was still in his early 20s.
When asked about his plans to marry the then-Miss Middleton, Prince William simply responded that he is "only 22," which obviously depicted that he still has no plans of getting married. Several references were also included revealing that the future King also repeatedly shared with reporters that he has no plans of getting married until he reaches the age of 28 or 30.
As added by Yahoo! Lifestyle, royal biographer and expert Katie Nicholl also revealed that Kate Middleton's then-boyfriend "insisted" the Palace to set up a private hotline for his girlfriend. This was said to be a form of assistance to support and help Kate in navigating the "stressful side effects" of dating a royal.
With these things at hand, there is no doubt that Prince William resorted every possible way to protect his now-wife, the Duchess of Cambridge from the media and public scrutiny. Even today now that they are husband and wife, it seemingly appears that they always try to keep everything in place to stay away from bad publicity and preserve their privacy as well as their titles as the future King and Queen of the British Monarchy.
