In the first month of the new year, the British Royal Family has been facing a lot of controversies, including especially the so-called "Megxit." This comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a "shocking" announcement that they are now stepping back as senior royals.

While the Sussex couple's statements were released in a shared way, the Duchess' half-sister, Samantha Markle believes otherwise. As claimed in her most recent interview, she sees the decision as one of Meghan's and not Prince Harry's.

According to Express UK, Samantha had a sit-down interview with ITV's This Morning earlier this week. It was said that she talked about the ongoing royal crisis, especially regarding the Megxit controversy, as well as the estranged relationship between Meghan and her father, Thomas.

Based on statements, she deems that her half-sister, the Duchess of Sussex is the one who wanted to step down as a senior royal because of the "criticisms" she has been facing in recent times. Although she "perceives" that Meghan Markle "did enjoy" the royal life, especially "when there were the fab four," things seemed to started to shift when criticisms started to rise from the public.

The photographs of her with her hair blown by the wind, her smiles and waves, not to mention the "contrived British accent," it was all wonderful then, Samantha Markle described. But, the "tune changed" after the public started to criticize her.

Aside from touching the Megxit controversy, Samantha also shared a few insights on the "estranged relationship" of Prince Harry's wife with her father, Thomas Markle, Sr. during the interview. She stated that their father, who is a former Hollywood lighting director, felt "disappointed" after the Sussex couple announced their decision to live a "financially-independent" life as non-working senior royals.

Samantha Markle also revealed that her father was "surprised" that the Royal Family "has been hurt" by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's "bombshell" announcement.

As per Daily Mail, the Duchess' half-sister further went to contend that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have "a lot of apologizing" to do. It was explained that this has something to do with the Sussex couple's alleged "wrong and shocking treatment" to their father, Thomas.

At the near end of her statements, Samantha Markle then addressed and described the Megxit controversy as a "gross breach of duty" to Queen Elizabeth II. Nevertheless, recent reports revealed that the monarch already gave her blessing to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in terms of their decision to quit the royal life and divide their time between the United Kingdom and Canada.
