It has been almost a week since Prince Harry returned to Canada to reunite with Meghan Markle and Archie Harrison. He flew out of the United Kingdom just after the "Megxit" deal's conclusion.
As reported, the Duke of Sussex met with the senior members of the Royal Family in Sandringham to finalize his and his wife's royal exit. It was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II spearheaded the "family discussion", which was also attended by Prince Charles and Prince William.
However, the agreements were reportedly far from their initial plan. As it happened, the things that they were hoping for "was not possible."
According to Mirror UK, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to become "financially independent." At the same time, they expressed their desire to continue their service to the Queen and the commonwealth while they do other ventures as a couple.
Alongside these plans, the Sussex couple also wanted to divide their time between the United Kingdom and North America. This was said to be because of their future plans for their advocacies and foundations.
Although they seemingly laid out their plans according to their best interests, these were not allowed by the members of the Royal Family. As a result, they obtained a much more shocking deal from the monarchy.
Express UK released the core details of the finalized "Megxit" deal. Based on the publication's assertions, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be financially independent. However, they will cease to formally represent Queen Elizabeth II.
In addition to these terms, the Sussex couple will also lose their HRH titles. While the Queen reportedly retained the HRH style to the young royal couple, they are not allowed to use them. Instead, they will be called and known as Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. It was also revealed that they will repay the taxpayers over $3 million, which is the amount spent to refurbish their Frogmore Cottage home.
These terms alone are already saddening and shocking for the fans and followers, especially to the royal couple. But, what made it more "disheartening" is the agreement that Prince Harry will be "stripped down" of his military titles.
Several royal experts and commentators attested that these titles and recognition have been one of the things that the Duke of Sussex has been proud of. Accordingly, many have been convinced that he has now "regrets" over the conclusion of their royal exit. This dynamic was also said to be an "exile" made by the Queen, as well as Prince Charles toward the Duke and Duchess.
