It has been a few weeks already since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they will be stepping back as senior members of the British Royal Family. While the final agreement between the couple and the rest of the family got settled only a few days ago, reports are now claiming that there will be replacements in place for the Sussex couple.

According to Express UK, recent royal engagements and appearances have been seemingly giving hints that the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Edward, along with his wife, Countess Sophie, might assume the place of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in terms of service and duties. But, aside from the speculations, the publication also launched a "site-wide" poll as to who is "most likely" to replace Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's place in the British Monarchy.

The poll included some of today's "popular" members of the Royal Family. Alongside Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, the list also included Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Zara and Mike Tindall, who are Princess Anne's daughter and son-in-law, Princess Beatrice and her soon-to-be husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as Lady Louise, who happens to be the eldest daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Based on the results, Prince Edward and Countess Sophie garnered over 69 percent of the total voters. Although the poll is not conclusive as it is not an official voting system, this is still noted as a great tell as to what the general public has been thinking about the future of the British Monarchy, especially about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit.

It is also worth noting that several publications, like New Idea, repeatedly revealed in the past that Queen Elizabeth II favors her youngest son the most among all her children. The same was also said to be true for Countess Sophie as sources shared that she is the Queen's favorite among all the in-laws that she has.

It is not clear, though, what will happen with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's position once the "Megxit" deal takes in effect come the spring of 2020. But, even so, the Wessex couple has been already working closely with Prince William and Kate Middleton in the past few royal engagements.

On Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank poll results, the couple garnered over 9 percent, following the Wessex couple's 69 percent. Lady Lousie came in at 7 percent and 6 percent of the total voters were taken by Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
